A brutally honest mini-series about prejudices
#WithCourage, we took on a major challenge: creating a video series about prejudice. From the start, we knew we wanted to generate positive energy, rather than dwell on obstacles.
However, no matter how positive we try to be, some things are simply part of everyday life for Roma in the Czech Republic — like dumb questions.
Is it true that all Roma receive social benefits?
I don’t really like Roma, but you’re an exception.
A unique opportunity to find out what young Roma think when they hear thing like that.
The videos were created as part of the Advocacy and Media Training of Romani Juniors project (May 1, 2021 – October 31, 2021). We attended an advocacy workshop with David Tišer, where we received both the theoretical and hands-on training in media production. Over three days, we filmed material for the entire Dumb Questions series.
The project resonated strongly on social media resonated — on Faceboook alone, it reached over 43,000 viewers!
The project was supported by the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation as part of the Active Citizens Fund program, which aims to strengthen civil society and empower disadvantaged groups. The program is funded by the EEA and Norway Grants.
